Germany

Paritätisches Bildungswerk LV NRW e.V.

Background

The Paritätische Bildungswerk (PBW) is a NGO providing general and vocational programmes of further education. It is a registered society closely co-operating with its umbrella organisation the PARITÄTISCHER Wohlfahrtsverband, Landesverband Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V., one of the three big welfare organisations in Germany. We develop job-oriented courses, for employees/employers working in the social field.

The target groups of these courses often consist of fully-employed or voluntary workers. Through its co-operation with the Wohlfahrtsverband, the Paritätische Akademie has access to approximately 9,000 organisations (NGOs) of all social areas. Within this framework, the Paritätische Bildungswerk provides networking of all institutions, organises expert communication and initiates innovative projects.

At the moment, 23 educational managers as well as about 200 part-time teachers, an IT-expert and four office staff are working for the Paritätische Bildungswerk. Each year the courses for vocational training and further education of the PBW attract about 5,000 participants.

Background

Baobab Association is a non-profit association created in 2001 in Barcelona, Spain, by professional experts in organization and training of human resources whose main purpose is the design, organisation and implementation of training actions focused to the social and laboral integration of people in risk of social exclusion. It is a training centre recognized by the Labour Department of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia for the accomplishment of vocational training courses for adult people and workers.

We also implement, in collaboration with different administrations, laboral and training actions directed to groups in risk of social exclusion, young people with scholastic failure, migrant people and long-term unemployed people, especially women.

As well, we are able to develop learning tools for training of trainers and students.

Baobab has participated as a partner in EU programs addressed to migrants. (Grundtvig 1: “Committed Parents: Training course to work with migrant parents in family education”, Grundtvig 2: “Frauen als Akteurinnen des Europäischen Zusammenwachsens, FAKT”, Grundtvig 1: “Cultures in dialogue”.


 

 

Bulgaria

Background

INTEGRA ASSOCIATION is the national coordinator for Bulgaria. Its located in Plovdiv/Bulgaria.

INTEGRA Association is a nation-wide Bulgarian non-profit organisation concerned with education, qualification and training. The main idea of the organisation is to initiate, implement and support joint projects between Bulgarian and other international institutions in order to increase the quality of education and training at all levels and in all its forms. We provide support to community services aimed at the improvement of accessibility, quality and efficiency of education and training; supporting social integration and enhancing personal fulfilment and the enhancement of moral and social values.

Our trainers are developing, applying and promoting the transfer of knowledge and teaching methods in different areas, including language teaching, improving interpersonal skills, training and education of the labour force and developing human resources to meet the requirements of a rapidly developing economy, culture and society, in accordance with international standards.

Background

The Institut für Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung der Fachhochschule Frankfurt/Main will develop and supervise the curriculum for the e-learning plattform for the Trainers.

The ISR is an interdisciplinary Institute at the Department of Social Work and Health "Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main, which exists more than ten years. Since 2003, Prof. Dr. Claus is the Director of the institut. A research focus of the Institute is "Local social and labour market policy." In this context the ISR was involved in several third-party-sponsored research projects about implementation of case management. An example of this is the project "social-assistance agencies under one roof", in cooperation with the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, which had the implementation and conditions of case management as content. In this project was also a curriculum for social services staff developed and implemented. In another project ( "Case management in various fields of local social, youth and elderly assistance"), in cooperation with the state capital of Wiesbaden, is currently a training plan for the elderly help from the ISR.

Currently, the ISR partner in the research consortium, the "Evaluation of the experimentation under § 6c SGB II" is responsible.


 

 

 

Italy

Background

EUROPOLE is the national coordinator for Italy. EUROPOLE will as well take care for the setup maintenace and of the project website. It´s located in Fumane/Italy.

The Polo Europeo della Conoscenza - European Pole of Knowledge is a network of schools, associations and institutions – hosted by IC Lorenzi and supported by the Regional Council, which is working for the European social integration. Its main field of activity, with its schools and associations at Regional level, is to promote the European dimension and integration through European and extra - European workshops, seminars, conferences, partnerships and projects. The European Pole of Knowledge is planning "umbrella" activities" involving the greatest possible number of schools and institution in the consortium. The European Pole of Knowledge works in every field of education, from ITC to in-service training courses for teachers, from Kindergartens to adult education in prison and in rural areas. It works mainly on social exclusion, fighting against xenophobia and racism and xenophobia, training of students and drop outs, intercultural learning and youth workers' training project.

The motivation to join this project come out from the previous experience of work with disadvantages people in schools, in prison and in all of our educational contests.


 

Lithuania

Social Innovation Fund (SIF)

Background

The Social Innovation Fund (SIF) is the national coordiantor of Lithuania. It´s located in Kaunas/Lithuania.

Social Innovation Fund, SIF (LT). The SIF is non-governmental organisation, which was established in 1994 and assists unemployed and economically-disadvantaged women to make positive changes in their life through the provision of educational opportunities, social support, information and advice. SIF is the founder and co-ordinator of the non-formal Coalition of Lithuania NGOs for Advocacy on Women's Human Rights, which unites more than 60 women's NGOs in Lithuania (www.women-coalition.webinfo.lt). SIF has know-how and experiences in learning activities with social disadvantaged groups, as well as work with people having immigrant background. SIF was partner in two Grundtvig projects, coordinated by Paritätische Akademie and one EC INTI programme project. During the implementation of these two projects, Social Innovation Fund has made tight contacts with other organizations in Kaunas city, that work on immigration and cultural integration issues.

Backgroun

The association for European Social Work, Culture and Education e.V. was founded by people with long-time experiences in vocational training in 1999 in Aachen as a private initiative. VESBE’s head office is located in Hennef. VESBE e. V. possesses locations in Hennef, Bonn, Cologne, Alfter, Dueren, Juelich and Bendorf with an amount of 70 employees (permanent staff). VESBE dedicates itself to development, evaluation and assembly of new ways concerning human resources development, employment policy and assistance of disadvantaged people. Approximately 30% of all participants in vocational training have a migration background. Since 2006 VESBE; provides integration classes for migrants. At the moment there are 2 classes with altogether 30 participants. Furthermore; there are several measures planned, assisting our integration classes in the following subjects: Orientation in everyday life, computer-aided language courses, enhancing educational skills, educational systems, life planning and similar.


 

 

Austria

ZEBRA - International Centre for Counselling and Therapy

Background

ZEBRA was founded in 1986, employs currently 25 persons and offers counselling and therapy for refugees and migrants in Graz, Austria. In our Migration and Integration department counsellors and social workers with the same native background as the clients offer single and group counselling regarding the integration in the labour market, legal counselling regarding the rights of foreigners, family counselling and psych-social support.

Apart from the direct counselling work with the clients, the counsellors work also in projects in the sphere of adult education and widening participation of the institutions.
